 3.  Once you have completed those steps you need to make a list of jobs that relate to your skills, personality type, and what you love to do. If you want to have your hobbies separate from your work then you need to find out what jobs would make you enough money yet give you the time you want to be able to do the things you love. Let me give you an example: Jake is an attorney and he likes his job but he is always working. He never has time to travel or have a relationship with anyone, which are the two things that would make his life complete. If he follows those steps and determines how much he needs to make to live happily and fulfill his dreams then he can determine what he could do to change his situation. He could change to a firm that is less demanding. He could start his own office and take on less cases. Or he could just ask to work less hours. But maybe he feels if he works less than his pay won't be enough to support the lifestyle he currently has come accustomed to. Here's where life gets complicated. First, he needs to decide what is more important to his happiness time or money.

There is nothing like you, there was nothing like you and there shall be nothing like you.

Through years of research into self-discovery and finding happiness in life, I have found several common themes. Here are the beginning aspects:

  1. The first thing is that you must understand are the unique skills and passions that make you who you are. There are several ways that you can do that. You can ask your friends and family. You can take a personality test , or you can look up your astrological sign and see if that matches your traits.

  2. Then you must determine how those skills are marketable for a career or hobby. Decide whether it is more important for your free time to be filled with doing the things you love or if it is more important to have your job be doing what you love. Some people are happy working a job that supports their hobbies. While other people only feel complete happiness if their job is doing what they love. For some people this is easy and they know what they want to be as a child. Other people, like me, can search for years before they discover what makes them truly happy. Then there are those who thought they knew what they wanted to do in life but after a few years realized that they made the wrong career choice. Remember it is never too late.
